Reverse Cut, 2010 is a collaborative project between Alexis Hudgins and Lakshmi Luthra in which the gallery space of Las Cienegas Projects was converted into a fully functioning reality television set that was open to the public twenty-four hours a day for three days of filming.   Funds to pay for location, insurance, food and supplies for Reverse Cut were raised on Kickstarter.</description>

Reverse Cut was followed six months later by Reverse Cut Wrap Party (January 19, 2011) at the Mandrake Bar in Culver City.  Borrowing from the production tradition of inviting cast and crew to a show wrap party, attendees, which included the cast, crew and audience of Reverse Cut, were invited to participate as panel experts in a public discussion of the production process.  Forty chairs were set up to face each other, creating a situation where audience becomes panel and panel becomes audience.  Wrap parties are traditionally debaucherous and it's probable that unlikely people will end up talking, and maybe even spending the night together.</description>

In Untitled MFA Project, a producer works in collaboration with an interviewee to create a sound-bite representation of what has presumably been captured on tape: an experience translated into language for an unmade reality show about the process itself.  </description>

Gold Monitors (1-20), edition of 32, 2011, ceramic and gold spray paint

Because I was unable to pay professional crew members for time and equipment to create Untitled MFA Project, I offered ceramic gold monitors as payment.  32 monitors were cast from one found in a typical control room, later spray painted gold and given to cast and crew participants.</description>
